The short version (this summary is for orientation only — the numbered sections below are what actually applies):
Jolly Dots: World of Adventure (the Game) is published by Catapult Games Ltd (we, us, our), a company incorporated in the United Kingdom whose address is Suite 207 Basing House, 46 High Street, Rickmansworth, WD3 1HP, United Kingdom. You can reach us at [email protected] or at that address.
These terms apply to the Game on every platform we publish it on, to any website we operate for it (including jollydotsgame.com), and to any support channel we run. Together we call these the Services.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information the Game handles and why. Please read it alongside these terms.
When you first open the Game you are asked your age and shown a button that reads Accept & Play, together with links to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. Tapping that button means you accept these terms. Continuing to use the Services after that also means you accept them.
If you do not accept these terms, do not use the Services. You may stop at any time by deleting the Game from your device, although your saved progress remains on our servers until you ask us to remove it — section 8.5 explains how.
| Term | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Account | The record we hold of your saved progress, identified by a player identifier the Game creates for you, together with any sign-in method you link to it. See section 8. |
| Virtual Items | Coins, gems, boosters, lives, unlocks, timed benefits and any other in-game content or entitlement, whether bought, earned, awarded or granted through a code. |
| In-App Purchase | A payment you make through the Apple App Store or Google Play to receive Virtual Items. |
| Rewarded Video | An optional advert you choose to watch in exchange for a Virtual Item or a temporary benefit. |
| Store | The Apple App Store or Google Play, whichever you obtained the Game from. |
The first time you open the Game it asks how old you are. Your answer is used immediately to decide how advertising and analytics behave for you, and then the specific number is discarded: the Game stores only which of three age groups you fall into (12 or under, 13 to 17, or 18 and over). Your age is not sent to our servers and is not included in any analytics. Section 2 of our Privacy Policy describes this in detail.
You must answer honestly. If you give an age that is not your own, the protections the Game applies will be the wrong ones.
The Game is made for a general audience. The rules that apply depend on your age:
If you are a parent or guardian and your child uses the Game:
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use one copy of the Game on a device you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial entertainment.
This is a licence, not a sale. The Game is licensed to you, not sold to you. We and our licensors keep every right that is not expressly granted here.
If you obtained the Game from a Store, the Store's own usage rules also apply, and where they are more restrictive than this section, they apply instead of it.
You agree not to do any of the following, and not to help anyone else do them:
If you become aware of a bug or security issue, please tell us at [email protected].
The Game and everything in it — its code, artwork, characters, level designs, music, sound, animation, text and the name and logo “Jolly Dots” — is owned by us or by our licensors and is protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws.
Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.
Videos of your play. You may record, stream and share video of your own play, including on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, and you may earn revenue from doing so, provided that you do not present your content as official or endorsed by us, do not use it to distribute a modified version of the Game, do not place it in gambling, adult, hateful or otherwise unlawful contexts, and comply with the platform's own rules. We may withdraw this permission from anyone who abuses it.
The Game creates a player identifier for you automatically the first time it runs, without asking you to register and without collecting a name, an email address or a password. Your progress is saved against that identifier on our servers so it is not lost if the Game is reinstalled or your device changes.
You can optionally link a Facebook account, Google Play Games (on Android) or Sign in with Apple (on iOS). Linking attaches that sign-in method to the Account you already have — it upgrades your existing Account rather than starting a new one, so your progress is preserved. Section 10 of our Privacy Policy explains what a linked account adds to your player record.
If the sign-in method you choose is already attached to a different Account, the Game will tell you and ask you which Account to continue with. It will not merge the two Accounts and it will not delete either.
We may offer a one-time bonus of Virtual Items for connecting an account. It is granted once per Account, and we may change or withdraw the offer at any time. You can disconnect Facebook from Settings → Signout; disconnecting does not delete your Account.
If the progress saved on your device differs materially from the progress saved on our servers — typically because you played on two devices — the Game asks you which one to keep. Whichever you do not choose is replaced. The Game warns you of this before you choose, and we cannot restore the version you discarded.
Your Account is tied to the devices you play on and to any sign-in method you link. Anyone who can use your device, or your linked account, can play on your Account, so keep both secure and do not share access to them. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your Account has been misused.
You can ask us to delete your Account and its saved progress by emailing [email protected] with the subject “Delete my data”. We will do so within 30 days and confirm by email. Deletion is permanent: your progress, your Virtual Items and any unlocks bought with real money are removed and cannot be restored. Deleting the Game from your device does not by itself delete your saved progress from our servers. Section 18 of our Privacy Policy describes what is deleted and what the law requires us to keep.
Virtual Items are part of the Game. When you buy, earn or are granted a Virtual Item you receive a limited, personal, revocable licence to use it inside the Game. You do not acquire ownership of it, and you acquire no right to it outside the Game.
Virtual Items have no monetary value. They are not currency, not credit, not a deposit and not property. They cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred to another player or another Account, sold, traded or exchanged for anything outside the Game, and no interest or balance accrues on them.
We may add, change, rebalance, reprice, suspend or remove Virtual Items, and we may change how much they cost in coins or how many are awarded, at any time and without compensating you. We do this to keep the Game balanced and playable. Where a change removes something you paid real money for, section 10 applies.
| Kind | Examples in Jolly Dots | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Consumable | Coin packs; boosters; life refills | Spent as you use them. Once spent they are gone. |
| Permanent unlock | Unlimited lives; the permanent custom-weather unlock; removal of interstitial adverts, which is included with most In-App Purchases | Tied to your Account. Restorable through the Store — see section 10.4. |
| Timed benefit | A seven-day pause on interstitial adverts, included with the smallest coin pack; a 24-hour custom-weather trial earned by watching a Rewarded Video | Runs for a fixed period from the moment it is granted, does not pause, and expires automatically. Buying the coin pack again adds a further seven days, up to a limit of 28 days ahead. A new custom-weather trial restarts the 24 hours rather than adding to them. |
| Awarded | Daily rewards, level rewards, free daily coins, invitation rewards, redemption codes | Granted by us, not sold. We may withdraw or vary them. |
Play may be limited by lives, which regenerate over time. Lives are a Virtual Item. We may change the number of lives, the regeneration rate or the point in the Game at which lives begin to apply.
We may issue codes that grant Virtual Items. Codes are promotional, have no cash value, may be single-use or limited in number, may expire, and may be withdrawn or voided if we believe they have been obtained or shared improperly. Some codes can be redeemed only once across all players.
Your Virtual Items may be lost if your Account is terminated under section 16, if you ask us to delete your Account, if you choose to discard a save under section 8.3, or if the Game is discontinued under section 15. Except where the law requires otherwise, we are not obliged to compensate you.
All In-App Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms. We never see or hold your payment card details. Your purchase receipt, order history and billing relationship are with the Store.
Prices are shown in the Game in your local currency, as supplied by the Store, and include any taxes the Store collects. Prices may change. A change does not affect a purchase already completed.
Virtual Items are delivered to your Account once the Store confirms the purchase. If a purchase is charged but the item does not appear, contact us at [email protected] with your Store order number and we will investigate. Each confirmed transaction is fulfilled once; a repeated confirmation of the same transaction does not grant the item twice.
The Game provides a Restore purchases option that re-applies permanent unlocks previously bought with the same Store account. Consumable items such as coin packs, and the seven-day advert pause that comes with the smallest coin pack, cannot be restored once used.
Because the Store processes the payment, refund requests are handled by the Store under its policy. We cannot issue a refund on the Store's behalf. Nothing in these terms removes any statutory right you have.
If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. Virtual Items are delivered to your Account immediately. By completing an In-App Purchase you ask us to deliver it immediately and acknowledge that, once delivery has begun, you lose your right to withdraw. This does not affect your rights if what you bought is faulty or is not as described.
If a payment is reversed or charged back, we may remove the Virtual Items it paid for and may suspend your Account until the matter is resolved.
The Game is free to download and is funded partly by advertising. Whether the adverts you see are personalised depends on your age answer and, for adults in regions where it is required, on the consent choice you make in the consent form the Game shows you. Players who state an age under 18 never receive personalised advertising and no advertising identifier is used for them. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full, and the Game's Settings → Privacy Choices row lets eligible players revisit their choice. On iOS, personalised advertising also requires Apple's tracking permission, which the Game asks for only from players who are 18 or over and eligible for personalised advertising.
Rewarded Videos are always optional. The reward is granted only when the advertising network confirms that the advert was watched to the end; if no advert is available, the reward is not available at that moment.
We do not control the content of third-party adverts and we are not responsible for the products, services or websites they promote. If you see an advert you believe is inappropriate or misleading, please report it to us at [email protected] with a screenshot if you can, and we will pass it to the advertising partner.
The Game relies on services operated by other companies — for cloud saving, sign-in, advertising, analytics, crash reporting, weather information and the app stores themselves. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we do not control them. A complete list of the providers we use, and what each one receives, is in our Privacy Policy.
The Game may also link out to websites and social media accounts we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content.
The Game records your best score for each level on our servers. Where a leaderboard is shown, entries are published to other players under a shortened handle — a first name and a last initial derived from the sign-in method you linked — together with the score. Players without a linked sign-in appear without a name. We never publish email addresses. We may remove or reset any entry we believe was not achieved by playing normally, or whose handle is offensive.
If you link a Facebook account, the Game can show you how your Facebook friends who also play are progressing, and show them your first name, profile picture and best scores. This uses the friend information Facebook makes available to the Game with your permission, and you can revoke it in your Facebook settings.
You may share an invitation link with friends. If someone joins through your link you may receive a reward. Do not post invitation links as spam, and do not create Accounts to invite yourself — we may withhold rewards and suspend Accounts where we believe invitations have been abused.
The Game can send you reminders on your device — for example when your lives have refilled or a daily reward is waiting. These are scheduled by the Game on your device. You control them through your device's notification settings, and the Game's Settings → Notifications row takes you there.
We are constantly working on the Game. We may add, change, rebalance or remove levels, features, mechanics, characters, prices and rewards, and we may issue updates you need to install in order to keep playing.
The Services are provided on an as-available basis. They may be interrupted by maintenance, updates, network problems or events outside our control, and online features depend on an internet connection you provide.
We may discontinue the Game or any part of it. If we do, we will give at least 30 days' notice through the Game, the Store listing or our website where we are able to. Except where the law requires otherwise, we do not compensate for Virtual Items that are unused when the Game is discontinued.
You may stop using the Services at any time. To have your Account and saved progress deleted, see section 8.5.
We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these terms — in particular section 6 — or that doing so is necessary to protect other players, our Services or our legal position. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so we will tell you why, and where a breach can be put right we will normally give you a chance to do so first.
If you think we have got it wrong, email [email protected] within 30 days of the suspension or termination. We will review the decision and reply within 30 days of your message.
On termination the licence under section 5 ends, and you may lose access to your Account and Virtual Items without compensation, except where the law requires otherwise. Sections 7, 9.2, 17, 18, 19, 21 and 23 survive termination.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, and we disclaim all warranties and conditions that are not expressly set out in these terms, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that your saved progress will always be available or recoverable.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes anything that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights — for example the consumer guarantees that apply in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Australia — that these terms do not affect. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Because some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, parts of this section may not apply to you.
If you use the Services in breach of these terms or unlawfully, and that causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you will, to the extent the law allows, compensate us for the losses and reasonable costs that your breach causes. This section does not apply where the law of the country you live in does not permit it.
These terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple or Google. The Store is not responsible for the Game or its content.
If you obtained the Game from the Apple App Store, the following also applies, in addition to Apple's own standard licence terms:
If you obtained the Game from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your download and purchases, and where the Google Play terms conflict with these terms in relation to the Store's own services, the Google Play terms apply.
We would rather fix a problem than argue about it. If you have a complaint about the Services, contact us first at [email protected] and we will try to resolve it with you within 30 days.
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over them. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings, or to be sued only, in the courts of that country.
We may update these terms — for example when we add a feature, change how purchases work, or respond to a change in the law. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.
Where a change is material we will give you at least 30 days' notice before it takes effect, through the Game or by another prominent means, unless the change is required by law or is needed to address a security or abuse problem, in which case it may take effect sooner. If you continue to use the Services after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you do not accept it, stop using the Services and, if you wish, ask us to delete your Account under section 8.5.
